The Meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Upthegrove
at 5 : 32 PM.
Agenda:
I: Reviewed and approved minutes of January 26th meeting.
II : Possible closing of the SW exit in the parking lot was
discussed. Board was in agreement with the decision to
maintain exit open.
III : Mr. Thornton questioned timing of the removal of stakes
supporting trees damaged by Hurricane Andrew. Given the
shallow nature of the root system on most of the staked
trees, we have been advised not to remove the stakes until
the fall of the current year. Pro shop staff will publicize
the existing local rule which is as follows :
One club length relief without penalty if the stakes
interfere with stance or swing but not line of site relief.
IV: Mr. Newman brought up the fact that Saturday, January 22nd,
some carts lacked rakes . The Bag room staff will be
instructed to make sure to double check that each cart
has a rake at all times . Mr. Lindheimer brought up the
issue of how few players rake traps and repair ball marks .
The importance of the ranger to monitor groups that do
not follow proper etiquette was discussed.
V. Mr. Newman brought up walking regulations and the rules
that govern walking on the course. The policy stands as
follows:
Any and all members who were members and in good standing
as of March 1st, 1989 are allowed to walk after 2PM everyday
prior to registering to play in the pro shop.
VI . Mr. Upthegrove inquired on the status of the 17th tee.
Alberto stated along with 6, 7, & 9 it will be rebuilt
this coming summer.
