MIAMI SHORES COUNTRY CLUB
ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
JULY 29, 1992
Present: Ernest Upthegrove, Alberto Pozzi, Joseph Obermeyer,
Nina Huston, Joseph Schwartz, Mike Walsh and Chuck Hart.
Excused: Richard Thornton, Richard J. Haft and Lewis Harms
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Upthegrove at 5 : 35 p.m.
I. Report by Mr. Hart:
1. Membership: the proposed 1992-93 dues schedule for golf
was discussed. There will be a special reduced rate
this year which is substantially less than the
regular dues. A membership promotion was proposed
up to the date of November 15, 1992 with slightly
higher rates.
2 . Mr. Hart advised the Board that PCM and Mr. Hart have
entered into a consulting agreement, in conjunction
with the lease, as a consultant and not as an owner.
Mr. Alberto Pozzi will be the General Manager. He
will be in charge of the total Miami Shores Country
Club operations for PCM.
3 . Golf Dues: The dues were decreased to a marketable price.
There is very little growth potential in Miami
Shores. Member rounds are down. Mr. Upthegrove
made several suggestions in regard to the letter
prepared by Mr. Hart and distributed to the Board
members.
4 . Golf Course: The first green, of the greens rebuilding
project, has been rebuilt. The fourth green is to be
reshaped to blend in a putting area and that will reduce
the size of the green.
5 . Railroad Crossing: Status unchanged.
II. Report by Mike Walsh:
The Golf for Kids Program has been sensational. It will
continue into the fall to encourage them to play and
start a league.
