Haft; Nina Huston; Agnes Aspinall ; Joe Schwartz; and Chuck Hart. Also attending: Ms . Gail MacDonald, Village Manager. Absent: Joe Obermeyer. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Harms at 5 : 30 PM. I . Report by Mr. Hart: 1 . Golf course: The fungus problem on certain greens is still present. The new strain is communicated by the mowers . Staff is investigating new treatments. 2 . Railroad Crossing: FEC stated that the contracts were in the mail and that Dade County was thereupon prepared to do the work. When completed, it will look like the 96th Street crossing with the sidewalk on the south side of the gates as the cart path. 3 . Membership and use of Club facilities : Newsletter will contain an item explaining the coupon being published inviting the public to use the club. While total membership is not down that substantially, 18-hole play is off 50% , but 9-hole play is up. Several clubs are forming an alliance to afford full reciprocity during the summer (except surcharge to use the Doral Blue Course) . The "Everyone Welcome" ad was very successful. There has been a good response to get people to use the driving range or to play a trial round of golf in order to talk to them about membership. 4 . 5-acre parcel: The Village Council wants to install a Vita course; and the Club Management wants to keep it as some sort of golf facility, e.g. a kid' s course and/or giant practice green. 5 . Management changes : Inasmuch as PCM is acquiring the Kendall Golf Club, Mr. Hart will be spending most of his time there and will no longer be the General Manager of the Club. The role will be undertaken by Alberto, with a new food and beverage manager to be appointed. Randy, who had been head golf pro, has been moved to Bonaventure; and Mike Walsh has been promoted to Head Pro here.
