Due to the enormous amount of rain since our last meeting, not too much progress toward final completion of the golf course has been made. Although the course is playable, it looks like it is still under construction. The new bunkers which are being added were discussed. Landscaping has been installed at the Clubhouse and around the course. Hopefully, the problem of standing water at the starter desk, with flooding in the Pro Shop and men' s locker room, has been solved with the installation of a large pump. 2 . The Golf Learning Center ( "GLC" ) is not as successful as anticipated due to the rain, but management is still optimistic once the weather settles . 3 . The Virginia Parsons matter was concluded as indicated in the last minutes. As to the railroad crossing, one meeting with FEC has taken place, aided by one of the Advisory Board members, and the matter should be resolved favorably. 4 . As to trail fees, no further work has been done on a Pro Forma for presentation to the Village . Walking Pull carts have not been permitted during the rains. Again, once the weather settles, data will be available for compilation in this report . 5 . Membership: 6 golf members who walk did not renew due to trail fees. 85% of golf members and 80`K of other categories have renewed. Management anticipates that golf will be approximately equal to last year , with social memberships declining. Many non-residents are still to be heard from. 6 . Food and beverage: the operation is being well received and getting closer to break-even. t Minutes of Miami Shores Country Club Advisory Board October 30 , 1991 Page 2 7 . (See below re: tennis report . ) Presently, the contractor will be MUSCO, with a cost estimate of $62 , 000 . II . Tennis report by Joe Schwartz: A meeting was held recently attended by 60-70 tennis members, who approved a four-year mandatory assessment of approximately $200 . per year per member . Mr . Schwartz reminded Mr . Hart of the need to include lighting for the parking area at the tennis courts. III . Remarks by Chairman Harms: 1 . In response to his question, Mr. Harms was advised that it is Club policy not to issue rainchecks for 45 minutes after play stops. The Head Pro has authority to waive this requirement , but the assistant pros do not . 2 . The Head Pro was complimented on his handling of the members. 3 . The bag boys appear to be doing a better job and are very polite. IV. Ladies ' Golf Ass'n. report by Mrs. Huston: 24 ladies participated in first tournament . The next event , for team play, is scheduled for November 7 , 1991 , and the Ass 'n. hopes 40 will enter .
