MIAMI SHORES COUNTRY CLUB
ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
FEBRUARY 27, 1991
Present: Lewis Harms, Dick Thornton, Ernest Upthegrove, Richard
Haft, Joe Schwartz, Joe Obermeyer, Jule Petruziello,
Jim Meyer, Gail Macdonald, Chuck Hart
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Harms at 5 :35 PM.
The first order of business was the consideration of the minutes
of the Jan. 30 meeting. The following additions were made:
Dick Thornton was also excused from attending the Advisory Board
meeting of Jan. 30; Alex Leeds is also serving in the Armed
Forces, whose name is to be added to the next to last paragraph
of the minutes, which were thereupon unanimously approved, as
corrected.
I Report by Chuck Hart
1 . Driving Range: A new architect, Chuck Ankram has been
retained and will have preliminary drawings on Monday,
March 4 . The range can continue to operate pending the appeal,
as the trial court judgment has been stayed.
2 . Golf Carts: Per suggestion from members of the Board, carts
will be cleaned out before new play, with rakes on each cart.
3 . Food & Beverage: Doing great, with attendance "sensational"
at member functions . Despite price increase, 197 attended Friday
( 2/22 ) Seafood Buffet. The complaints about the couples
tournament confirms that the event should have been held in
one separate room.
4 . Traffic Light: Per conversation with Elaine Gordon, we
should postpone pursuing our request until design of driving
range and relocated entry has been finalized.
5. Improvements: The installation of new awning outside the
bar has been canceled and will install window tinting. Carpeting
of the restrooms on the golf course will commence on Friday,
March 1 .
6 . Golf: The Pro/Am event has been canceled. Men' s
Member/Guest scheduled for March 20, Men' s Golf Assoc. does
not want to sponsor.
Rob Luthringer is leaving as head pro, being replaced by Scott
Hurst.
