Report by Chuck Hart:
Village Council has approved tennis court lights until 9 : 00
PM, and extended to 10 :00 PM for special events. They will
install lights on four courts at the approximate cost of
$ 70, 000. This project should be completed by November 1st.
Tennis memberships have already increased due to this added
attraction.
Construction for the new Pro Shop to be located in the Men' s
Lounge will commence this week. The existing Pro Shop will
be converted to a card room for men & women. A new rest room
will be added and the Snack Bar will remain as is . A new bar
will be installed in the card room. This will be an approximate
$ 20, 000 investment.
The golf course condition has continued to improve. Several
tournaments are planned for members and their guests . The
monthly newsletter will announce the scheduled events.
Membership renewals have totaled $ 170 ,000, compared to last
year on this date when no money was taken in. Many people wait
until the "Dues & Booze" party, which is scheduled for October
18th. They plan to update all files and have the "Dues & Booze"
party early in October next year.
Joe Schwartz:
Very pleased over the approval of the tennis lights . An Inter-
national tennis tournament is planned for early December, which
will be a warm-up for the Orange Bowl activities. Participants
will come from all parts of the world, and will be housed by
the tennis members .
Chuck Hart;
Requested that the Advisory Board sponsor another Pro-Am golf
tournament this year. This would not be a fund raiser, but
would appreciate the membership to continue to be involved.
Dick Thornton:
Introduced Richard Haft and Ernest Upthegrove, who are the two
newly appointed members of the Advisory Board. Agreed to discuss
a Pro-Am tournament with Chuck Hart and feels the Advisory Board
should have more sub-committees .
Angela Daley:
Reminded members that they should support the Autumn Ball October
27th. Also, appreciates the opportunity to have served on this
Board for four years, and thanks everyone for the expression
of confidence.
Ernest Upthegrove:
Compliments the Professional Course Management group for the
excellent job they have done to improve the Country Club. All
members of the Board expressed their appreciation to Chuck Hart.
Meeting adjourned at 6 :50 PM
Next Meeting: October 31 , 5 :00 PM
Respectfully submitted,
Angela Daley, Recording Secretary
