The undersigned is certified by the State of Florida to perform as Special Inspector in accordance with The 2014 Florida Building Code and Florida Statute 553.79. It was noted that the existing wood-framed storefront header framing differed slightly from the assumed configuration used in our engineered framing details. At my personal direction,the field crew modified the Simpson Clips installation to meet the design intent and all design imposed loads. Furthermore,the soffit framing that laterally supports the 2x6 storefront header plate was enhanced in order to provide additional lateral support to resist the maximum imposed wind loads to be imposed by the new storefront glazing. After the work was completed and personally inspected by the undersigned, no exceptions were noted. The wood-framed opening is now ready to accept the installation of the new storefront glazing system.
