Mr. Victor Bruce, Architect gave an extensive presentation explaining the
project and showed the plans to the Board.
The Board asked questions about the tree in the back and the canopy of it.
Mr. Victor Bruce responded that the tree will be slightly pruned back.
Mr. Kendall gave a brief explanation as to why Staff does not support this
application.
The Board expressed concern about changing the Façade of the house.
The Board asked questions about the iron work on the house.
There was comments made by the Board about the changing the Façade.
Mr. Bruce gave an indeph explanation of the proposed design.
The Board gave advise to Mr. Bruce and asked questions.

Mr. Bruce is in agreement with the Board to make changes and bring it before the Board
next meeting.
The Board tabled the item to come back next meeting to come back with changes. The
vote was unanimous.
D) MINUTES
1) Approval of April 16th, 2018
Motion to approve the minutes of April 16, 2018 by Mr. Humphries,
seconded by Mr. Tavares and the vote passed 4-0.
4) DISCUSSION
a. Discussion about establishing criteria for historic designation.
Ms. Korman states that we already have a criteria.
Mr. Kendall states that this is an opportunity to add.
Discussion took place by the Board about this item.
Ms. Korman adds that there need to be notification to the residents, but in
terms of actual changes to the criteria this is not needed.
There was discussion at this time at length about the designation of historic
houses.
b. Discussion about creating a notification letter for properties which may be
designated as historical in the future.
The Board asked questions
Ms. Korman informed the board about the process to be followed for this.
c. Initiating and conducting a survey of properties in Miami Shores.
Ms. Korman informed the board of the process to be followed.
Mr. Kendall there is no need to go through the survey process. He
will check into it.
Ms. Korman gave more information as to what the Board needs to do.
d. Cross-reference such list with any official and unofficial existing lists.
Ms. Korman spoke about this briefly. The Board commented on this.
Mr. Kendall expressed that the list provided the items in blue are in the
national registry.
e. To conduct a survey of all potential properties to be designated historical.
In order to conduct the survey the board needs to verify if the county
provides the proper forms.
Discussion took place about this item. The Board asked questions.
f. To evaluate the idea of creating a Historic Preservation Society.
The Board had discussion bout this item. Ms. Korman will get more
information for this item.

Mr. Kendall said that there is a lot of them in South Florida.
The Board expressed that they would like the applications to be submitted
sooner rather than later.
There was discussion about the application owner’s name for the item heard
today.
