R-1201-11 RESOLUTION NO. 1201-11 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL, MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING TENTATIVE AD VALOREM TAX LEVIES FOR THE GENERAL FUND AND OTHER FUNDS OF THE VILLAGE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2011, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser has determined that the value of real and personal property not exempt from taxation for Miami Shores Village has been certified at$719,515,491; and WHEREAS,the Miami Shores Village Council has applied the certified property values to the General Fund and other Funds of the Village for the fiscal year beginning October 1,2011; and WHEREAS,tax levies are required and applied to the value of one mil and incorporated into the FY2011-2012 Proposed Budgets;and, WHEREAS,the first of two public hearings on the property tax levies and corresponding budgets was held on Tuesday,September 6, 2011, NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL that: Section 1. The Village Council hereby tentatively sets the final Operating Ad Valorem tax levy for FY2011-2012 at 8.0000 mils which represents an increase of 1.29%from the roll-back rate. Section 2. The Village Council hereby tentatively sets the final Debt Service Ad Valorem tax levy for FY2011-2012 at 0.7855 (0.3109 and 0.4746 for the Aquatic Center and Charter School General Obligation Bonds respectively). Section 3. The Village Council will adopt the final millage rates following the second of two, mandatory public hearings,the second of which is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Tuesday,September 20,2011 to discuss the proposed budgets in compliance with Florida State Statute 200.065.
