A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL,PURSUANT TO SECTION 197.3632,
OF THE FLORIDA STATUTES,PROVIDING FOR A UNIFORM METHOD OF COLLECTING NON-AD
VALOREM ASSESSMENTS FOR SANITATION AND STORMWATER SERVICES ON COMMERCIAL
ACCOUNTS,AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY TO PLACE THE VILLAGE'S PROPOSED NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENTS ON THE
COUNTY TAX BILL,AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, provides for a uniform method of collecting non-
ad valorem assessments; and,
WHEREAS, Miami Shores Village has determined that it is in the best interest of the Village to
collect the assessments,as referenced in Section 9-41 et.seq.and 20-108 of the Miami Shores Village
Code of Ordinances,for the cost of providing sanitation, recycling and stormwater services, including
capital improvement project funding within the Sanitation and Stormwater Departments; by using the
uniform method of collecting such non-ad valorem assessments;and,
WHEREAS,The Miami Shores Village Council passed Resolution No. 1173-10 on January 5,2010
allowing for the collection of residential accounts using the uniform method of collecting non-ad
valorem assessments; and,
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the Village to enter into a written agreement with the
Miami-Dade County Tax Collector and Property Appraiser governing the uniform method of collecting
such assessments; and,
WHEREAS, In compliance with Section 197.3632 Florida Statutes,the Village has duly published
its intent to use the uniform method for collection of such assessments in a newspaper of general
circulation for four consecutive weeks preceding the hearing;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Miami Shores Village Council:
Section 1. That the Village hereby confirms that the levy of the non-ad valorem
assessments is needed to fund the cost of providing recycling and solid waste collection services, as well
as stormwater services within the Village.
Section 2. That the Village intends to use the uniform method for collection of non-ad
valorem assessments authorized in Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes,for the collection of assessments
for sanitation and stormwater services to commercial accounts located within Miami Shores Village,the
legal description of which is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit"A".
Section 3. That the Village Manger is authorized to execute an Intergovernmental
Cooperation Agreement,subject to review and approval of the Village Attorney, between Miami-Dade
County and Miami Shores Village, such Agreement to outline the responsibilities of the Village and the
responsibilities of the County.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the Village
Council.

Geographic Boundaries of Assessed Area
All single-family and duplex family residential properties within the territorial boundaries of the
municipality of Miami Shores Village, in the County of Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida,
described as follows:
(1) Commence in Section 5,Township 53 South, Range 42 East,at the northeast corner of
Watersedge,a subdivision according to the Plat recorded in Plat Book 9,at page 141,of the
Public Records of Miami-Dade County.
(2) Thence run west along the north line of said subdivision called Watersedge,to the west line of
the East Dixie Highway,which west line of said highway is twenty-five feet, more or less,west of
the west line of said Section 5.
(3) Thence run south along the west line of said East Dixie Highway, and twenty-five feet, more or
less,west of the west line of said Section 5 to the south line (produced or projected easterly)of
Block 3 of Golden Gate Park Addition,a subdivision according to the plat recorded in Plat Book 7
at page 54 of said public records;thence west to and along said south line of Block 3 of said
