RESOLUTION NO. 1088-04
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, AUTHORIZING THE
VILLAGE MANAGER TO APPLY FOR THE FEDERAL DRUG
CONTROL AND SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
GRANT AVAILABLE THROUGH THE MIAMI-DADE
DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO APPLY FOR,
RECEIVE, EXPEND FUNDS AND EXECUTE AGREEMENTS
WITH THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A "DRUG CONTROL
AND SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT"PROGRAM
Whereas, Miami Shores Village is eligible for grant funds from the United
States Department of Justice under the "Drug Control and System Improvement"
program,and
Whereas, Miami Shores Village desires to participate in this program as
outlined in the accompanying agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by
reference, for which Miami Shores Village may not be able to secure all of the monies
necessary,and
Whereas,the United States Department of Justice has funds available for this
program.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE,FLORIDA:
Section 1: The Miami Shores Village Police Department,through the
Office of the Village Manager, is authorized and directed, retroactively, to make
application to the United States Department of Justice for grant funding under the
"Drug Control and System Improvement" program and if funded, to budget and
expend funds under the grant.
Section 2: Miami Shores Village certifies that it will accept the terms
and conditions set forth in the Project Agreement for any assistance awarded under
the proposal for grant funds,and that it is in complete accord with the proposal and
any plans and specifications thereto,unless prior approval for any change has been
received.
