R-1060-02 0 RESOLUTION NO. 1060-02 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL, MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, OPPOSING THE PROPOSAL BY CORNERSTONE DEVELOPMENT CORP. TO BUILD THE MARBELLA APARTMENT COMPLEX UNTIL QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED. WHEREAS, Cornerstone Development Corp. has submitted to Miami-Dade County a proposal to build a 180 unit apartment complex; and WHEREAS, the proposed complex would be located at 730 N.E. 90th Street which is contiguous to the Village's municipal borders; and WHEREAS, the Village has a number of concerns regarding the potential negative impact such a development may have on the Village's infrastructure, including additional vehicular traffic, additional children in the local schools, impacts upon existing storm and waste water systems, etc.; and WHEREAS, the Village has requested that Cornerstone Development provide a copy of their traffic study to the Village, address the Village's concern regarding school overcrowding, and provide the Village with a date for which they are available to attend a public hearing; however, Cornerstone has not provided the requested information nor have they addressed further the concerns raised; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Miami Shores Village Council hereby opposes Cornerstone Development Corp.'s proposal to build the Marbella Apartment Complex until such time as the questions asked and the information requested by the Village has been responded to and that these issues have been adequately addressed. Section 2. The Village states that it is not opposed to the development of low or middle income housing in principle, and opposition is based only on the fact that Cornerstone has refused to answer the questions that have been asked. Section 3. The Village Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Miami-Dade County Commission.
