A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
SUPPORTING THE REQUEST FOR FUNDING OF CRIMINAL
JUSTICE PROGRAMS ADMINISTERED BY THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE -BUREAU OF JUSTICE
ASSISTANCE "LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM".
WHEREAS, Miami Shores Village is eligible to apply for grant funds from the United
States Department of Justice under the "Local Law Enforcement Grant" program, and
WHEREAS, Miami Shores Village desires to participate in this program in order to help
fund needed new equipment and program support for which Miami Shores Village may not be
able to secure all of the monies necessary through the General Fund; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice has funds available for this
Program; and
WHEREAS, the total estimated funds for this Program are $17,037.00, of which
$15,333.00 will be funded by the United States Department of Justice and the remaining
$1,704.00 will be funded by the City from the Forfeiture Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Miami Shores Village Police Department, through the Office of the
Village Manager, is authorized and directed, retroactively, to make
application to the United States Department of Justice for grant funding
under the "Local Law Enforcement Block Grant" Program and if funded,
to budget and expend funds under the grant.
Section 2. Miami Shores Village certifies that it will accept the terms and conditions
set forth in the Project Agreement for any assistance awarded under the
proposal for grant funds, and that it is in complete accord with the
proposal and any plans and specifications thereto, unless prior approval
for any change has been received.
