A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL,MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE,FLORIDA TENTATIVELY ADOPTING THE FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003
OPERATING AND DEBT SERVICE BUDGETS;SETTING THE TIME,DATE AND
PLACE OF THE SECOND OF TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS TO DISCUSS THE AD
VALOREM TAX LEVIES AND CORRESPONDING BUDGETS;AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser has determined that the value of
real and personal property not exempt from taxation for Miami Shores Village has been certified
at$482,755,673; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Shores Village Council has applied the certified property values to
the operating budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2002; and
WHEREAS, tax levies are required and applied to the value of one mill and incorporated
into the FY 2002-2003 Proposed Operating and Debt Service Budgets; and
WHEREAS, the first of two public hearings on the property tax levies and corresponding
budgets were held on Tuesday, September 3, 2002,
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL that:
Section 1. The Village Council hereby tentatively sets the final Operating Ad
Valorem tax levy for FY 2002-2003 at 7.7500 mills, which is 5.108%
greater than the rolled-back millage rate of 7.3733 mills.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby tentatively sets the final Debt Service Ad
Valorem tax levy for FY 2002-2003 at 0.5151 mills.
Section 3. The Village Council will adopt the final millage rates following the second
of two, mandatory public hearings, the second of which is scheduled for
7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 to discuss the proposed
operating and debt service budgets in compliance with Florida State
Statute 200.065.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately u its adoption.
