R-1039-01 RESOLUTION No. 1039-01 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL PROVIDING FOR BUDGET AMENDMENT#1 TO THE FY 2000-2001 COMPONENT OF THE FY 2000- 2005 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS BUDGET FUNDING PROJECT#32 (BISCAYNE BOULEVARD IRRIGATION PROJECT), PROVIDING FOR A DESIGNATED FUNDING SOURCE (LOCAL OPTION GAS TAXES); PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation advises that the Biscayne Boulevard Landscape Enhancement Project will begin by the Village's fiscal year end on September 30,2001;and, WHEREAS,the Village Council previously agreed to address the installation of an automated irrigation system to adequately maintain the landscape investments within the median; and, WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has a policy that restricts that agency from installing any mechanical irrigation system, relying solely on rain water and run off to maintain landscape projects; and, WHEREAS, Village staff identified available project funding totaling $85,000 for the project originating from Undesignated-Unreserved Local Option Gas Tax Fund Balance proceeds; and, WHEREAS, the project will transpire over multiple years and is considered a capital improvement to the Village's assets and not an operating expenditure. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL,that: Section 1: The FY 2000-01 component of the FY 2000-05 Capital Improvements Budget is amended; adding Project #32 [design, development and installation of an automated irrigation system along Biscayne Boulevard]. Section 2: The FY 2000-02 component of the FY 2000-05 Capital Improvements Budget is hereby increased in the amount of$85,000 to fund Project#32. Section 3: Funding for Project #32 is $85,000, the source of which will be from the Undesignated-Unreserved Local Option Gas Tax Fund Balance. Section 4: This resolution will become effective immediate upon adoption.
