R-1037-01 :s Resolution No. 1037-01 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE,FLORIDA,VILLAGE COUNCIL ESTABLISHING TENTATIVE AD VALOREM TAX LEVIES FOR GENERAL OPERATING AND VOTER-APPROVED DEBT SERVICE PURPOSES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2001;PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser has determined that the value of real and personal property not exempt from taxation for Miami Shores Village has been certified at $440,802,643; and WHEREAS,the Miami Shores Village Council has applied the certified property values to the operating budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1,2001; and WHEREAS,tax levies are required and applied to the value of one mill and incorporated into the FY 2001-2002 Proposed Operating and Debt Service Budgets;and WHEREAS,the first of two public hearings on the property tax levies and corresponding budgets were held on Tuesday, September 4,2001, NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL, that: Section 1. The Village Council hereby tentatively sets the final Operating Ad Valorem tax levy for FY 2001-2002 at 8.000 mills,which is 3.6575 greater than he rolled- back millage rate of 7.7177 mills. Section 2. The Village Council hereby tentatively sets the final Debt Service Ad Valorem tax levy for FY 2001-2002 at 0.5151 mills. Section 3. The Village Council will adopt the final millage rates following the second of two,mandatory public hearings,the second of which is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 18,2001 to discuss the proposed operating and debt service budgets in compliance with Florida State Statute 200.065.
