R-1012-00 RESOLUTION NO. 1012-2000 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE VILLAGE MANAGER AND HIS DESIGNEES TO BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE POTENTIAL ACQUISITION AND TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION OF THE STORM WATER UTILITY SYSTEM IN THE VILLAGE FROM MIAMI-DADE COUNTY TO MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE. WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the Village and its residents for Miami Shores Village to pursue the possibility of transferring the ownership and operations of the storm water utility system within the Village from Miami-Dade County to Miami Shores Village, and WHEREAS, the Village has been advised that Miami-Dade County requires a resolution authorizing Village Staff to commence negotiations in this regard, in order for such negotiations to be held. NOW,THEREFORE,be it duly resolved by the Miami Shores Village Council as follows: 1. That the Village Council hereby authorizes and directs the Village Manager and his designee(s)to begin negotiations for the potential acquisition of ownership, title to, and operation of the storm water utility system located within the municipal boundaries of Miami Shores Village from Miami-Dade County, Florida, including but not limited to issues involving the assumption of responsibilities for operations, maintenance and capital improvements thereto. 2. That the Village Manager shall report the results of these negotiations back to the Village Council and shall seek and obtain Village Council approval of any final proposal prior to conclusion of such a transaction.
