CURRENT GASOLINE TAX RATE.
WHEREAS,the Miami Shores Village Council understands that the recent increases in

WHEREAS,when similar circumstances were encountered in 1996,the County
Commission voted to repeal a portion of the gasoline tax to provide relief to the citizens of the
County; and

the consumer, which would have resulted in lower gasoline prices at the pumps; and
WHEREAS,the 1996 repeal of two cents of the gasoline tax negatively impacted
municipal revenues and dramatically reduced necessary funding for roadway improvement
projects; and
WHEREAS, if the County Commission repeals four cents of the gasoline tax, Miami
