A RESOLUTION OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
URGING VOTER APPROVAL OF THE DADE COUNTY
REFERENDUM ON THE PUBLIC SAFETY FOUR POINT
PLAN TO BE VOTED UPON SEPTEMBER 8, 1994 .
WHEREAS, the Dade County Commission has adopted a PUBLIC
SAFETY FOUR POINT PLAN designed to ( 1) improve police response time
and efficiency, (2) to expedite court case load, build required
jails and provide treatment, prevention and emergency facilities,
(3) to expand juvenile and other crime prevention programs and (4)
to improve fire rescue response time and firefighter paramedic
training, and
WHEREAS, said plan will require funding of approximately of
$728,000,000. 00, which funds are not available from the usual
sources and
WHEREAS, the Dade County Commission is seeking to raise the
required funds by a special bond issue to be approved by the voters
by referendum scheduled for September 8, 1994, and
WHEREAS, the Miami Shores Village Council supports the
implementation of the aforesaid public safety four point plan and
believes that the voters of Dade County should express their
approval by an affirmative vote at the election on September 8,
1994,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE, FLORIDA,
That this council does approve and support the PUBLIC SAFETY
FOUR POINT PLAN presented by the Dade County Commission for
approval on September 8, 1994, and does urge the electorate of Dade
County to express their approval of same with an affirmative vote
on election day.
