R-0924-94 RESOLUTION NO. 924-94 Rl+GOLUTrON OF THE MEANT VIIIM AGE COUH= AC00TING THE 1IRCONDFRIMATTON OF THE HT.STORIC PRESERVATION BOARD TO DESIGN= THE PROPERTY AT 113 H.E. 101ST STREET A .�FiORFS HISTORIC LAS AND IIWSTRUCTIgG THE V IXAGE CLEB% TO RECORD THE HrSTOHICAL LBBB COVENART Iff THE PBBISC RE..OBDS OF NETR DADS C013= WEIEREAS, on May 24, 1994, the Historic Preservation Board, after considering the criteria for designation of historic landmarks found in section 112-3 of the Miami Shores Village Code, passed a motion, under section 112-5 (b) (4) , to recommend to the Village Council that the property at. 113 N.E. 101st Street be designated as an historic landmark; and WFC, the owners of the property initiated the nomination, and have consented thereto, by the exacut:i_on of a covenant to run with the land; and WSEREAS, the structure on the subject property was constructed in 1926 by the Shoreland Company, the initial developers of Miami Shores; and NBEREAS, the architects of the or_i_ginal structure were Kiehnel and Elliott, who were responsible for many of the significant Mediterranean Revival Style straructures built in Miami Shores, and throughout Dade County, during the 1920's; and WHEREAS, the subject structure typifies, and incorporates many of the distinctive- features of, the Mediterranean Style of architecture so prevalent in Miami Shores, and Soath Florida. in general, during the 19201s; , 1 NOW, E'OBE, BE IT -RESOLVED BY TSE CODBCIL OF SHORE VIDLX AGE, FLORTDA: Section 1. The recitals and findin contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Miami Shores Village Council hereby accepts the recommendation of the Ai or�c Preservation Board and approves the designation of the property at 113 N.E. 101st Street as a historic landmark of Miami Shares Village. Section 3. The Village Clerk is hereby instructed to record the Historical Landmark Covenant, voluntarily executed and submitted to the Historic PrPsexvat�'on Board by the owners of the subject property, Jorge Ardura and Nancy Ardura, in the public records of Metropolitan Dade County.
