R-0896-92 RESOLUTION NO. 896-92 RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF SPECIAL ELECTION ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 1992, ON TWELVE REFERENDUM PROPOSALS FOR AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE. WHEREAS, pursuant to the Initiative provisions of the MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE Charter, an election was held on October 1, 1992, upon twelve proposed amendments to Chapter 20 of the Code of Ordinances of Miami Shores Village, which said proposed amendments called for the erection of street closure devices in designated area, and WHEREAS, said election resulted in the failure of each proposed amendment to obtain the required majority votes, as follows : PROPOSED AMENDMENT #1 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICES TO BE ERECTED ALONG THE SIDE OF NORTH MIAMI AVENUE ON EACH STREET EXCEPT N.E. 95th, 103RD, 110TH, AND 111TH STREETS?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 783 1352 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #2 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE ON THE EAST SIDE ON N.E. 2ND AVENUE AT N.E. 104TH STREET?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 803 1330 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #3 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF N.E. 103RD STREET AT N.E. 3RD AVENUE?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 764 1366 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #4 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF N.E. 103RD STREET AT N.E. 1ST AVENUE?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 757 1355 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #5 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ON THE EAST SIDE ON N.E. 2ND AVENUE AT N.E. 105TH STREET?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 769 1346 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #6 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED AT THE BOUNDARY OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ON N.E. 5TH AVENUE SOUTH OF N.E. 91ST STREET?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 817 1296 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #7 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF NORTHEAST SIXTH AVENUE ON EACH STREET OR AVENUE ROAD SOUTH OF N.E. 103RD STREET, EXCEPT N.E. 89TH STREET, N.E. 96TH STREET, AND GRAND CONCOURSE?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 760 1360 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #8 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF NORTHEAST SECOND AVENUE ON EACH STREET SOUTH OF N.E. 95TH STREET?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 760 1368 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #9 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ON THE EAST SIDE OF N.E. 2ND AVENUE (SET BACK TO THE EAST SIDE OF THE ADJACENT NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY) , ON 100TH STREET?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 756 1359 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #10 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF NORTHEAST SIXTH AVENUE ON EACH STREET OR AVENUE ROAD SOUTH OF N.E. 103RD STREET AND NORTH OF N.E. 96TH STREET, EXCEPT GRAND CONCOURSE?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 726 1403 -2- PROPOSED AMENDMENT #11 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF NORTHEAST SECOND AVENUE (SET BACK TO THE EAST OF THE ADJACENT NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY) ON EACH STREET NORTH OF N.E. 95TH STREET AND SOUTH OF 103RD STREET, EXCEPT N.E. 96TH STREET AND N.E. 100TH STREET?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 733 1388 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #12 "SHALL CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR STREET CLOSURE DEVICE TO BE ERECTED ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF NORTHEAST SECOND AVENUE ON EACH STREET SOUTH OF N.E. 95TH STREET?" VOTES FOR VOTES AGAINST 761 1357 WHEREAS, said election having resulted in the defeat of each and every of the proposed amendments to the Code of Ordinances, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA: That pursuant to the vote of the electorate of Miami Shores Village on October 1, 1992, as hereinabove set forth and approved, the Code of Ordinances of Miami Shores Village shall stand unamended with regard to said proposals.
